Founded in 2005, Collective Opera Company (COC) is a cross-disciplinary ensemble of creators, including musicians, writers, dancer artists, filmmakers and visual artists, dedicated to developing opera works for a new audience.

Our goal is to make groundbreaking work with social and political resonance, combining new music, vocal and physical improvisation, found texts and multi-media to provide a real-time discourse between audience and opera.

Fusing classical training and avant-garde performance practices, Collective Opera Company seeks always to question what opera was, what opera is, and opera can be.
